For my senior engineering design project at Rice University, a team of us designed and built a (very, very low budget) submarine prototype. The intention was autonomic operation, but we lost a couple electrical engineers, leaving only us mechanicals. I did much of the analysis and contruction on the frame and dual high-pressure electronics cans. And yes, the nose cone is made of rubbermaid mixing bowls and it is driven with a pair of trolling motors. |
