The steel bed that I made in college was becoming too small and too industrial-chic, so I designed this wood and glass queen-size bed. I wanted something with simple lines, and with a few specific features: The head board is useful as a backrest for sitting up, it can also be lifted to reveal storage space for blankets in a sort of hidden chest, and the shelves are supported with glass that is edge-lit to serve as an integrated nightlight.
